I was looking for a higher level of care for her, so I visited them. It was much smaller than where she was at the time, but I felt that they could provide her a higher level of care. Her room is large, but it is a shared room. There is a big curtain in between the two beds. I do not think I would like the idea of being in a room with somebody else, but she seems to be doing OK with it. The food is good, and the service is good. They have a big dining room where the residents can go. I visited the assisted but it's a combination because they have only one building so they combined everybody of various levels. I'm fine with that, except that my father-in-law is old also and probably not too kind. He didn't like it because we don't see a good expression from him. We wanted people with the same level of ability. The only thing was that it's just mixed level of abilities of the patients or the residents.
They also don't replace any clothes that the employees take . I love being a family physician, and love being a family physician educator. I am fascinated with the science of continuity and comprehensiveness of care for individuals and the process of medical education. I am a great supporter of residents interested in not only achieving excellence in their medical skills but in developing their leadership skills as well. I have dreams of improving physician efficiency in clinical practice.
Their last words were to me were to tell me he would not be admitted to the hospital. He did get admitted and I will NEVER return to Lakepoint EVER! The neglect was horrible and their insistence that "it's only a little infection" was terrifying to me.
